The water department, headed by Jason Wambolt, provides water, sewage and garbage service to residents within the town limits and to several residences outside the town perimeter. This department installs and maintains over 31 miles of water lines. It also operates and maintains 2 ground wells, one holding 100,000 gallons, and 1 elevated water storage tank that holds more than 100,000 gallons and has100,000 watts of auxiliary power. The Bassfield Water Association has consistently maintained an excellent rating from the Mississippi Department of Health.
